Apple Music gets its first full rebrand, with a logo shaped by a Fred again.. track
The new identity was made with practical effects, not software, and reaches iPhones with iOS 27.2.

Apple Music has a new look. Apple officially unveiled the service's new brand identity on October 21, including a new logo, app icon and visual design, after the icon first surfaced in iOS 27.2 beta code earlier in the month.
The headline detail is how the logo was made. Apple says it was physically shaped by an original composition from producer Fred again.. and NEST Acoustics: sound was played through liquid, and the resulting movement was captured on camera rather than built digitally. Apple released a behind-the-scenes video showing the process.
This is the first time the service has been rebranded since it launched in 2015. Apple took a similar practical-effects approach when it rebranded Apple TV in November 2025.
Users will see the new design with iOS 27.2, which was expected to arrive within about a week of the announcement. The web version went live the same day. Fans also found a playful extra on the website: a missing page now shows a working, clickable iPod.
